
Miles heads up Common Knowledge's sales and business development efforts with our prospective nonprofit clients and business partners.
Miles is a non-profit, business, and philanthropic professional. His background includes fundraising, sales, business development, philanthropic advising, and non-profit board leadership. He has 8 years of sales experience in the education and renewable energy sectors, and 3 years of fundraising experience for national nonprofits.
Miles' nonprofit fundraising experience includes serving as Green For All's and Craigslist Foundation's Lead Development Consultant and Chabot Space and Science Centerís Major Gifts Manager, leading each of the Bay Area organizations' individual, foundation and corporate fundraising efforts. He also consulted to the East Bay Community Foundation to develop and implement its private foundation outreach initiative. He currently volunteers on Insight Prison Project's Fundraising Committee and was formerly a board member for Youth Speaks.
Miles for-profit sales experience includes serving as Regional Director for Sunlight Electric, a commercial solar energy design and installation firm, and as Director of Regional Sales for Collegeboard.com. He was also Co-founder and Director of Baru Adventures, an educational student travel program to Costa Rica and France.
Miles, his wife, and young son live in N. CA. He is a committed Masters swimmer (preferably outdoors), loves to speak Spanish whenever he can, and is always reminded that his son is his teacher.
Miles earned his MBA from Thunderbird, the American School of International Management, and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
